Looking Back on 2013

It’s that time of year when all you want to do is curl up and stay at home. If you have a nice hot fire you can’t beat those long evenings by the fire eating mince pies and wait for Santa to turn up! This year has been a good one at Wessex Networks. The team, and business has grown remarkably.

April saw the return of Sandy Garnham who left us only a year previously to follow her husband’s (Paul) work out in the States. She loved us so much she had to come back! Nigel Bradby joined us later on in the year with many years IT helpdesk support under his belt to assist Dave our help desk manager and Jon our resident Mac expert. September saw the addition of Luke Reid the youngest member of our team who is to hosting what a duck is to water! He has worked closely with Richard over the past few months learning all the intricacies of the Wessex Networks hosting systems and is about to launch our new shared hosting platform.

This year saw the successful integration with a number of clients from former Zytiff IT Consultancy. Former owner Matt Bedding came to work at Wessex Networks for a year to manage this, help clients feel at home, and introduce them to our team.

The team somewhere in France In May we took part in a charity race (or was it rally?!) to Monaco with Gatwick Diamond Business. Whilst we didn’t make it on the podium we were the first team to get there via Paris! Captain Maynard at the wheel got his lefts and rights the wrong way around which cost us dearly. We did however get an award from the charities supported for the most money raised of any team. So a big success there – that’s what it was all about of course.

Andrew, Staff and Students at Living Waters October saw Andrew head off to Eastern Africa to support the work of Living Waters in Mwanza, Tanzania. He reports that the school has come so far from his pervious visit 6 years ago with general development in the area the largest thing that had changed. The school now has a wide tarmac road running straight past it (which was formerly a bumpy track) leading straight to the airport. We would like to thank all of those who support children at the school via the sponsorship program. Please visit the website to find out more.

The Reform Club, Pall Mall, London Amongst many large and successful projects completed this year we’re also delighted to have been selected by the Reform Club, Pall Mall to implement a new digital archive solution. This is to establish, preserve and protect the clubs heritage for generations to come and we’re really excited to be working with such a prestigious establishment.

This year has once again been our biggest and most successful year and we would like to send our thanks and gratitude to our customers who have worked and supported us during this time. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Have a great Christmas and a prosperous new year.
